Torbay: Beautiful and cultural
Torbay is one of the best known holiday resorts in England, situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the South-West.

Torquay, together with the small town of Paignton and the fishing port of Brixham, form an area known as Torbay. Torbay has a 35km coastline with sandy beaches, red and yellow sandstone cliffs, exotic plants, palm trees, beautiful gardens, harbours and marinas. Warmed by the Gulf Stream and naturally protected from the Atlantic, Torbay enjoys one of the mildest climates in England and is known as the 'English Riviera'.
The Mediterranean-type landscape, together with the availability of a variety of water sports, boat trips, nightlife and a truly international atmosphere, makes Torbay ideal for the student who wishes to combine a language course with a traditional holiday by the sea.

And even if few people know it - there are palm trees in England!

The Queen of the English Riviera

Torquay, is the second largest town in the county of Devon, about half-way between Exeter and Plymouth.

With approximately 140, 000 people living in the bay, Torbay has exactly the right size for a language holiday. It is not too large, so you don't have to worry about spending hours on a bus or tube like you would in London and you also don't have to worry about getting constantly lost. On the other hand, it is not too small, which means there are plenty of recreational and cultural things to do.

Our main teaching centre is right in the heart of Torquay - overlooking the town centre and only one or two minutes away from the main shopping street.
Great Activities
There's lots of fun and culture to be found throughout the bay. Westend Musicals, sometimes with the original cast, are often shown in the largest of the four theatres in Torquay. Two modern marinas, five golf courts, 2 multiplex cinemas, 50 tennis courts, three public pools including one wave pool, countless sandy beaches around the bay, and much much more explain why Torbay with it's palm trees on the promenade is a premier resort in England.

But there's even more: Kents Cavern is one of the largest and most beautiful lime stone caves in Northern Europe, Dartmoor National Park and Plymouth are both less than an hour away, and Cornwall, the Eden Project, and Land's End all make great days out.
Agatha Christies, the world's most famous crime writer, was born in Torquay, and some of her 'Hercule Poirot' novels are actually set in Torquay's Imperial Hotel. And, of course, the 'Queen of Crime' has left many other marks throughout the town.

So why not combine a quality language course with a great holiday?
